Baptism

“Baptism is a public declaration of a personal decision to follow Jesus”

About Baptism

The Bible tells us that there is a celebration in heaven for every person who entrusts their life to Jesus. God wants us to share this joy with the world, beginning with publicly declaring our decision to follow Jesus through baptism.

Baptism is a symbolic decision where we are immersed in water, aligning ourselves with the death and resurrection of Jesus (Romans 6:4-5). This act signifies that our old life is dead and we are now living a new life in Christ. When we choose to go public with our faith and get baptized in front of our family and friends, we not only obey God’s command but also testify to the world about the transformative power of Jesus. As we say, “Baptism is a public declaration of a personal decision to follow Jesus.”

  • Once we choose to follow Jesus, we are called to continually surrender our faith, family, future, finances, fitness, and fun to God. Baptism is a symbolic act of being immersed in water, representing the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It signifies that the person’s old life is left behind, and they are now living a new life in Christ.

  • We should be baptized because Jesus asks us to publicly declare our personal decision to follow Him, obeying God’s command and testifying to the transformative power of Christ in our lives. This act shares the joy of our salvation with our community, demonstrating the impact of Jesus’s resurrection in defeating sin and death.

Acts 2:38 tells us to "repent and be baptized"

  • Baptism is performed by immersing a person in water, symbolizing their alignment with Jesus's death and resurrection. As they are submerged, it represents the burial of their old life, and rising from the water symbolizes their new life in Christ.
